The social giant finally announced a family of apps for Android called Facebook Home. Home isn't a phone or operating system, it is family of apps. If you installed this application it replaces your home screen with various features such as Cover feed, Notifications, Chat heads, App launcher.
Cover feed replaces the lock screen and home screen.You can update your cover photo and profile photo right from your home screen. It allows to update your status, Sharing a photo, Commenting on someone posts and more.
Notifications: Facebook Home shows all your notifications in to your home screen such as calls, events, apps notifications and Facebook updates with profile picture.
Chat Heads: With chat heads you can keep chatting with friends even when you're using other apps, checking emails, browsing on the web or listening music. When friends send you messages, a chat head appears with your friend's face, so you see exactly who you're chatting with.
App launcher: Home’s launcher makes it easy for people to get to your apps quickly. People choose what's on their app launcher and it’s simple for them to get your app in there.
Home will be available as a free download on Google Play Store in US starting April 12 and the Global version coming soon. Home now works on the HTC First, HTC One(future), HTC One X, HTC One X+, Samsung GALAXY S III, GALAXY Note II and Galaxy S4 (future).
